Art of Blogging for Business Part 3 - 10 Calls to action that you need to know

This is part 3 of the series on the Art of Blogging for Business. (for Part 2 see Long Tail Keywords)

After you have put together a well written blog that engages your reader, you will need to add a well written call to action for your reader. A call-to action is simply an invitation to the reader to take a certain action. For example, you might want to discuss the benefits of subscribing to other existing blogs and provide a link to these other blog posts.

There are a number of different calls to action that are worth considering and below are ten of the more common and effective calls to action depending on what you try to achieve:

1.Leave a Comment

One of the most effective ways to build a community is to invite your reader to leave a comment.

2.Blog Subscribers

When you have blog subscribers, then you are able to deliver your content straight into their inbox every time you publish a new article. This will increase your chances of gaining views, social shares, comments and leads.

Example: Found the article useful? Subscribe to our blog by adding your email address to the form on the right. You’ll be the first to hear about our updates!

Then perhaps add a “Subscribe Today” button below the form.

3.Submit an Inquiry

Most readers are not ready to buy after they have read your blog post. So invite them to ask for more information about what you have written.

Example:Curious what you can apply right now to dramatically improve your website’s ranking? Call us today for a free consultation at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

4.Learn More

Your readers may not be ready to contact you at this time. So provide links to relevant content to further educate your readers and keep them on your website. Example: Are you wondering why less traffic to your website could actually be good for you? Check out “Part 2 of series on Art of Blogging for Business - Long Tail Keywords”

5.Buy Services

Maybe your readers are ready to make a purchase after reading your blog post. Then give them an extra push towards purchasing.

Example: Are you ready to translate your blog posts into different languages now? You are only one click away from purchasing our blog post translation service by visiting our blog post service page.

6.Join Mailing List

An email list is important to you. Keep your readers updated with your latest blog posts.

Example: Want the latest and the best SEO practices straight to your inbox? Click here to subscribe to our online marketing newsletter.

7.Share on Social Media

Social media shares are important to tell the search engine that your content is relevant, useful and valuable.

Example: Did you find our Top 10 calls to action helpful? Feel free to share on Twitter or Facebook by using these buttons on the left.

8.Follow you on Social Media

You are building an online community of people that likes your company and your products. So invite them to follow you on the major social media networks.

9.Sign up for a free trial or demo

People like to try before they buy. So offer your readers a no-obligation opportunity to try out your products or services is always a good idea.

10. Vote on a poll

You want to find out what your readers are interested in. So be sure to ask for feedback by linking to a poll or asking for input in your comments.
